Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.0) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Hi, KOrganizer is missing a basic functionality: when I want it to set up a sound alarm/reminder it should just toggle the button visually (or even better, make it a checkbox) and not open a KFileDialog with a non-sense directory. Also, as in other bug report we should have sound theme or at least a "Configure Notifications" to configure this kind of thing. As for now, could you please set the KFileDialog to a sane sound file? So I just have to press "Open" and not browse for a sound file every time.
So... any comments on this? yes, no, maybe... ?
The file selector now goes to a good default (KDE's sound directory). Reinhold
"Also, as in other bug report we should have sound theme or at least a "Configure Notifications" to configure this kind of thing." Yes, PLEASE! Here's the deal: I have a bunch of monthly and weekly recurring reminders set in KOrganizer. When they go off, the daemon pops up a dialog to remind me, but instead of playing a nice sound through the sound card, it beeps the PC speaker! Ugh! So I went on a wild goose chase looking in the Control Center->System Notifications dialog, and in all the menus and settings in KOrganizer, expecting to find a standard dialog for setting the default sound for when a KOrganizer alarm goes off. But I found nothing. Finally after searching Google and reading a years-old mailing-list post, I found that you have to set individual sounds for individual alarms, in *addition* to the dialog popup. Wow. That just doesn't make any sense at all. Very un-KDE-like. Please add a standard KDE System Notification for KOrganizer reminder dialogs. This would make using KOrganizer much more pleasant.
Reassigning all KOrganizer bug reports and wishes to the newly created korganizer-devel mailing list.
