Description Tom 2004-09-22 19:37:25 UTC
Version: 1.7 (using KDE 3.3.0, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.1 20040803 (Gentoo Linux 3.4.1-r2, ssp-3.4-2, pie-8.7.6.5)
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.8.1-ck5-kraxel

Two possibly related problems with toolbar buttons for marking as spam or not-spam:

First I used the wizard to start using bogofilter. Cool. This added only one button to my toolbar, the arrow-in-a-green-circle for marking as spam. I went into the toolbar config window, and it did show "filter mark as not spam" as being on the toolbar, but it wasn't. When I choose an icon (before it was a document with a question mark), it went onto the toolbar.

Second, and I can't reproduce this 100% of the time, sometimes those toolbar buttons don't work. It seems to happen after applying filters to all messages it the folder, especially when there are a lot of messages in the folder. Although the toolbar buttons for Mark as Spam and Mark as NOT Spam don't work, right clicking on the message and choosing those from the apply filter submenu works fine.

The icon problem is fixed for KDE 3.3.1. That's why I close this report.

Please try to find out more details about part 2 of your report. You might want to use the filter log viewer (in Tools menu) to get an insight in what the filters do. It might be usefull to get a log of the error case too.
Please open a separate report if you can provide more details. Thanks.

I think I have the same bug, when I did manage to get the icons onto the toolbar they didn't work, 'though when I selected the same functions fro, "Message - Apply Filter" these worked.

Me too. When I upgraded from KDE 3.5 to 4.2 and used kde3to4 transfer wizard, everything worked. But the buttons for the mark as spam and mark as not spam had no icons, just the generic blank "?" icons.

When I tried to edit the toolbar, I could see the entries in the available buttons that had icons, as well as a couple more entries that didn't. The ones showing on the visible side (right hand side) showed that they were there,

I tried to move the ones that had correct icons over and remove the ones that didn't.

Then all the icons and buttons for spam disappeared from the toolbar.

I re-installed all the spam stuff, bogofilter and perl spamassin, and all the kontact and kmail apps from Yast.

Re-ran the spam wizard, and then went into the toolbar config again to see if the entries were there.

Sure enough, they were the correct icons on the visible side. But the toolbar never shows those buttons at all!!!

I can't get them back!
