Version: 1.3.2 (using KDE 3.2.3, (testing/unstable)) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (Debian 20040422) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.27-5deb1 Hi, I choose a font in Settings->Font->Custom... (LucidaTypewriter but it doesn't seem to matter which one). Font is correctly modified. Nevertheless if I go back to the same menu, not "Custom..." is selected, but "Unicode". That's rather cosmetic but perhaps link to the actual problem. Then I select Settings->Save as Default and quit konsole. When I restart konsole, my font selection has disappeared and I get the standard font (without all Unicode characters BTW). I couldn't find any way to save my font selection as default, hence I assume it's a bug. ~/.kde/share/config/konsolerc presents the two following lines (among others): defaultfont=LucidaTypewriter,10,-1,5,50,0,0,0,0,0 font=8 So, it looks like it's saved but ignored (I tried to set 'font' to 9 and 3, without effect). Starting konsole from another konsole, I couldn't find anything spurious in stdin/stderr. Thanks, Eric PS: I've found some similar bug reports, but they were all old 2.x reports and closed, so I created mine. Hope this is OK.
Can you try a recent version of KDE? 3.4/CVS seems to work O.K. for me (ie picking LucidaTypewriter works). % grep Font /home/kvh/.kdehome-cvs/share/config/konsolerc -i defaultfont=LucidaTypewriter,14,-1,5,50,0,0,0,0,0 font=8 Fonts->Custom is checked.
Hi, sorry for not updating, I installed Debian freshly (on another computer) and the problem doesn't appear there, though it remains on the first computer. Hence I assume that something is screwed up; I'm happy for any hint but else you can close the bug. Thanks and sorry for the noise, Eric
Currently a problem with my upgrade from a perfectly functional KDE 3.3 to KDE 3.4.1 and Konsole 1.5.1. The console font selection/save facility worked great in KDE 3.3 but is totally nonfunctional in KDE 3.4. As a sidenote, the fonts appear to be limited in number in KDE 3.4.1.
