Description S. Umar 2004-09-21 02:55:47 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc-3.4.1 latest cvs
OS: Linux

I have a setup where I boot an x-station from my desktop machine. This setup was working
fine with KDE 3.2.3. I now installed KDE 3.3 updated from CVS KDE_3_3_BRANCH yesterday.
To my surprise kdm started segfaulting every time. I did an strace and found out that the
cause was the:

terminal.ip.address:0 foreign

line in my Xservers file. If I comment this line than everything works fine. If I remove the
word foreign it does not segfault. I should point out that the x-terminal is not connected to
the network. I am at the xorg-x11 6.8.0 patchlevel 4. The terminal uses xdmcp.

fixed in head and 3.3-branch.
btw, it's counterproductive to list xdmcp displays in Xservers.
