Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.1) Installed from: Slackware Packages Compiler: gcc 3.3.4 OS: Linux Problem whe loading the bank page www.bankdirekte.no. Several error messages "Unexpected end of data, some information may be lost". After klicking OK to remove the message boxes, the web page seems to work, but each time a new page is loaded on the same site, the error messages appear again. The site/pages has been tested with previous versions of Konqueror; same problem. The site works nicely with Mozilla and Firefox on Linux and Safari on Os X.
Upgraded to KDE 3.3.0; same problem.
Still problems with 3.5-branch
It seem's that on httpfilter, when filter Deflate is used, it initialize with bHasHeader as true, but when getting last bytes from the pipe, it's require bHasHeader as false , if not error is emitted. Try this little patch, message should not be shown anymore in this case.
Created attachment 16618 [details] Little path to get ride of Unexpected End of Data, when deflate is used on some sites. Little path to get ride of Unexpected End of Data, when deflate is used on some sites. Need to be tested .........
Yesterday I installed 3.5.3 with SuSE 10.0 and have got the same error message from many sites (including bugs.kde.org !!). I have had to use Firefox instead of Konqueror to submit this.
The above download was from ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/opensuse/repositories On July 13th at about 14.00hrs I added ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/3.5.3/SuSE/SUSE_Linux_10.0 and disabled the earlier one. An upgrade loaded only two kernel files (one oss, the other non-oss). A reboot then cleared the above problem! In between, I had shut down and rebooted a couple of times and the above problem remained. This MAY? help work out what happened.
My symptoms are this: This problem is intermittent. When it occurs it may last a few days. It dissapears as mysteriously as it appears. It does not affect all web sites. Firefox renders the same web pages without error. RSS updates via KnewsTicker are also affected. It happens on two independent systems (Suse 9.3 Ethernet/10.1 Wireless) both running konqueror 3.5.4 at the same time and disappears at the same time. However, both are connected to the internet via the same BT-Voyager wireless router. As a consequence I believe the problem is network related.
It looks there is the same problem with http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer/ When Konqueror 3.5.5 returns "Unexpected end of data" error, the firefox 2.0.0.1 loads the page correctly. No matter if you copy-paste this link, or click this url on other page: http://blogs.adobe.com/penguin.swf/2007/01/flash_player_9_for_linux_x86.html at 'Go get it' link. The result always ends with the same error. Somebody could check this it this problem with adobe is not only on mine konqueror?
The similar problem is with http://www.adobe.com/go/ links. For example: http://www.adobe.com/go/wish http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer/ I have to click 'Refresh' button several times to display page. Otherwise "Unexpected end of data, some information may be lost" page is displayed instead. Firefox/Seamonkey has no problem displaying these pages.
The "Unexpected end of data, some information may be lost" message prevents me from using any internet features of all KDE Applications. Konqueror will surf, but with a pop up at every click. Amarok will not download album covers or update last.fm due to the bug. Currently using KUbuntu (feisty) version of KDE. (3.5.6) 2.6.20-15-generic (ubuntu) kernel.
After recently dist-upgrading debian/sid (another PC with sidux) to (partly) kde 3.5.8 this alert-popup "Unexpected end of data" does occur here, too. It is not shown on all pages, but e.g. on www.spiegel.de
I cannot reproduce this bug on any of the sites mentioned above anymore. I am using KDE 3.5.8 build 22.3 on OpenSuse 10.3 i386. We might consider to close it? Hendric
works for him.
