Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.0) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages The Klipart images should be merged in to the http://openclipart.org effort. Their clipart in turn should be made available to KOffice.
Well, if I remember well, it started as sub-project to be included in KOffice however I have not any idea about the current status. The web page http://users.skynet.be/kborrey/klipart/klipart.html does not seem to have evolved much. Have a nice day!
The "developers" of Open Clip Art would welcome cooperation with Koffice, the more the merrier. I should point out that all the works in OpenClipart.org is in the Pubic Domain (it is the only sure way to be clear users can do what they want with the artwork and create derivative works without fear of any legal implications). If the artists could be found and were wiling to put their works in the public domain it would be greatly appreciated but it may not be possible. Other forms of cooperation are certainly welcome. I suggested that Koffice could make efforts to standardise on SVG for storing gradients (which are inhernetly vectors anyway). http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108171 It is likely distributors (I believe gentoo is in the works) will start packaging OpenClipart and installing it somewhere like /uss/share/clipart/openclipart/
Given the 2002 timestamp on klipart and the fact that it isn't even hosted on koffice webserver, I think it's as good as dead. I guess me might as well link directly to openclipart and package some nice clipart with relevant applications.
There seems to be general agreement we would all like to see this happen. (Issue was also mentioned on Koffice mailing lists. Marking bug as New on this basis.) What needs to be done on a practical level to help make this happen? OpenClipart.org is being included by more and more distributions and installed to /usr/share/clipart/openclipart/
Not sure its useful to keep very generic component requests in bugzilla.
