Description Thomas Reitelbach 2004-09-09 13:40:49 UTC
Version: 3.3 (using KDE 3.3.89 (CVS >= 20040820), compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.1
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.7

i usually create new appointments by selecting the desired time in korganizer and then right-click and choose "new appointment". this pops up the appointment-dialog and i'm done.

so far so good, but sometimes it is hard to hit the correct start and end-time with the mouse. you always have to look at the left side to verify your selection matches the desired time-frame.
this could be made more userfriendly. for example, korganizer could use a little popup to show the currently selected start/end time _while_ the user creates the selection. or instead of a popup the start/end-time can be displayed inside the selected area. this way one would not always have to look at the left to verify he's hitting the correct time.

sorry for this not very precise explanation ;-)
and thank you for this already very nice program, i'm using it on a daily basis :)))

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for the wish. I think this is a very valid wish, and I'd like to keep it around so we don't forget about it (although it might take a long while until we really implement something like that).
Since kde 3.3 the situation has improved in so far as a red line is now shown in the timeline at the position where the mouse cursor currently is. But still, as you argue, the user has to look at the far left of the agenda view, which might be quite far away from the actual mouse position.

Cheers,
Reinhold
