Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.0) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: gcc-3.4.1 built with konstruct OS: Linux The strange behavior can really only be seen in a screenshot. Any widget with an accelerator key is colored red or green and an ever increasing amount of &s and !s are appended in front of the letter everytime the widget is repainted. This problem started happening after using kcontrol to change the audio server settings.
Created attachment 7419 [details] everytime the k menu is opened, more and more &s appear. The highlights are not mine and appear that way in kde everytime the k menu is opened, more and more &s appear
please change your GUI style in kcontrol. This is the development style scheck, that Qt somehow falls back to if no other is set up
All widget styles and window decorations produce this behavior.
I've completely recompiled kde after deleting my previous install. This problem manifests itself whenever i use konstruct to build kdeartwork. Using kcontrol to change the widget style and/or window decorations does not solve the problem.
I feel this bug should then be attatched to the Qt fall back style where it prepends (&) and (!) in an endless loop until the GUI is unusable.
Changing the Style in kcontrol did not work for me. I had to completely delete all the .kde configuration files in my home directory and start over. When I stared KDE again I used the configuration wizard to select a different style. Now it works properly. The startup wizard will not let me select the Keramik style. It is the default. To have a proper working desktop without the accelerator key bug I need to select any other style. If I select the keramik style I don't see any change in the preview panel below, this bug happens and the desktop looks like a mixed style. I get the keramik window decorations but the menus and buttons look more like mofit style. I think that could be cause by the fact that mofit was the style I selected before selecting the Keramik style. I hope this information helps to fix the problem. I installed as root on Mandrake 10 using knostruct and did a CVS update on September 9th, 2004.
