Version: 0.11.14 (using KDE 3.3.0, (3.1)) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 (Debian 1:3.3.4-9) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8 Under kernel 2.6.7 k3b see my drive (TEAC CD-W524E 24X 10X 40X) writeability under ordinary user and root and , of course I can write CD. When I have started kernel 2.6.8.1, I can see my drive in CD-ROM section only and so I cannot write CD. All permitions correct. If I start k3b under root all working without any problem. Difference in properties of CD drive is: under root: Write CD - yes Write CD/RW - yes under ordinary user: Write CD - no Write CD/RW - yes I think so this is cause of my problem.
I have the same problem with my AOpen drive. Under 2.4.27 it works as it always did.
I have the same bug with my dvd burner, but this bug seems to be a duplication of that one : http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87211
