Description eleknader 2004-08-27 15:40:45 UTC
Version: (using KDE )
Installed from: KDE 3.3.0
OS: Search

I'm running KDE 3.3.0.

I've faced several bugs when trying to use IMAP resources with a Novell Groupwise IMAP server:

First, few general KMail bugs/wishes

1. When creating a new IMAP resource you need to close KMail preferences, if you want to set your resource folders under the new (to be created) IMAP folder.
Possible solution: could IMAP changes like folder creation be done before opening misc->groupware settings.
2. KMail tries make new Contacts IMAP folder, when syncing calendar. Groupwise does not support this, and KMail shows a warning.

Now to more Groupwise specific problems:

1. Reading from Groupwise IMAP server:
Event organizer name has two extra characters:
shows "3DTapio Kautto <Tap..." instead of "Tapio Kautto <Tap..."

2. Writing to Groupwise server:
Calendar items are not understood by Groupwise. Groupwise shows events as Notes, iCal is attached.

I'll attach a screenshot showing Groupwise webmail view.

Please fix, if possible!

Tapio Kautto

What version of GW are you using? It appears to be 6.x

Have you enabled CAP and iCal?
Comment 3 eleknader 2004-08-27 20:33:42 UTC
Groupwise is version 6.5. I'm not the administrator of the server, so I have no idea what is supported at the server, or any server settings (You mean CAP and iCal on server, right?).

If necessary, I can install tryout version of Groupwise on my own workstation for testing purposes, so I can fiddle with the settings better.

Reassigning the bugs of the SMTP, IMAP and POP ioslaves to kdepim-bugs.

kio_imap4 doesn't exist anymore.
