We were seeing many artifacts (missing chucks of data, 0 rather than the data, X and Y axis being un-synchronised before a recent update thread patch.  So this may be fixed.  George: please confirm.

  I still do see weird things.  I think this is due to my laptop being a bit 
slower on drawing, making it easier to spot problems.

Still a problem.  Seems to be related to two paints happening quickly.  Perhaps it's a race.

It would be still be useful to have more information so that we can try to reproduce this problem. What are you plotting when you see the problem? Update rate? etc?
