Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.1) Installed from: RedHat RPMs It would be great if, when editing filenames with Windows-style extensions, KDE could display the same inuitiveness as Nautilus in GNOME. Most of the time, people do not want to edit the extension type, so only the name of the file and not the extension is highlighted when the user renames it. Most of the time, the user will not wnat to change the extension, so they cannot simply begin to type the new filename, as this is overwritten. If only the name and not the extension is highlighted, the user can simply type the new name, without having to worry about fiddly clicking and reselecting.
That's a dupe of Bug #58749.
