Grace has an option to "stagger" labels (i.e. write them at 2 alternating heights) which can also turn out to be useful. We could add a checkbox (or spinbox if an int can be useful there ?) 

This was originally part 2) of 86506.

Now that we have the ability to display delta values, and rotate axes labels this seems obsolete.
