Description Alex Wright 2004-08-10 22:40:50 UTC
Version: unknown (using KDE 3.2.92 (3.3 beta2), Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 20040412 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.3-r6, ssp-3.3.2-2, pie-8.7.6)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-rc2-love3

To reproduce:
1) Set the screen saver to require a password to stop.
2) Press the K button to bring up the system menu, but don't select anything.
3) Wait until the screen saver appears.
4) Wiggle mouse, or press a key. Screen saver disappears, leaving the user to continue.

Expected behaviour:
Upon wiggling the mouse, a password dialog should appear.

Are you sure the screensaver really appears? Due to bug #78871, it shouldn't, and you're more probably just seeing the monitor being blanked by power saving.

And what does your "After x seconds" under "[x] Require password to stop" read and how long do you wait before 4)?
Comment 3 Alex Wright 2004-08-15 21:22:39 UTC
Ahh, Lubos Seems to be correct here. I have the screen saver showing for only a short time before power managment kicks in, so was confusing the two.

Stephan, Time read 15 seconds, and I did wait that long (But only by accident! I was unaware of that setting).

Cheers!
