Description Michael Daum 2004-08-10 10:56:53 UTC
Version: 2.0.2 (using KDE 3.2.3, (3.1))
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 (Debian 1:3.3.4-7)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.6

Hi,

once upon a time there was a nice kde application called kjuckebox,
being discontinued nowadays (stopped at 0.3.2, homepage down).
And juk does seems to become just its reinvention ;)
So what about looking into some of the good features
from kjuckebox and get them ported to / implemented in juk, most
notably volume crossfading. I realy liked that! See the screenshots
at http://www.kde.de/appmonth/2000/kjukebox/main.html and
http://www.kde.de/appmonth/2000/kjukebox/config.html .

	Micha.

My opinion:

Juk isn't a DJ machine and it should never become one, unless it's a plugin that you can load when you need it. A crossfader is nice (as are 1001 other features on the wishlist) as long as the user interface stays as clean as it is now. There are enough cluttered media player applications already.

This feature request should be renamed "volume crossfader like in amarok".
