Description Volker Kuhlmann 2004-08-06 13:44:57 UTC
Version: 3.2.1 (using KDE 3.2.1, SuSE)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (SuSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.5-7.95-default

General cookie policy: enabled, only accept from originating server, ask for confirmation.

Special setting: bugs.kde.org -> accept

Unfortunately, whe I want to report a bug, tools->html settings->cookies is always off. It's kind of bad if one can't even submit a bug report... ;) I even added a ".bugs.kde.org" -> accept, but no difference.

And btw I'm forever getting annoyed with web browsers failing to specify what they mean by "domain.org" and ".domain.org" and "*.domain.org". God only knows.

Hello,

For the record the plugin under the html settings menu does not come with the
cookiejar itself. It is an addon that is part of the kde-addons package. Last
I checked there were complaints that this particular plugin had issues. It
needs to be checked. For now please stick to the actual cookie config dialog
under "Configure Konqueror...".

Well, is the cookiejar module running ? For that matter are any of the other
kded services running ? You can check for that by looking under the control
panel: Control Panel -> KDE Components -> Service Manager.

I dunno about any other browser. In KDE's kcookiejar only the first two are
supported. "domain.org" is supposed to match only "domain.org" and
".domain.org" should match any host/domain under "domain.org", e.g.
"foo.domain.org". That is of course minus any bugs we are not aware of...

Hm, ok, takes too long though, but will do for now.

Yes, running. Definitely the cookiejar, I checked that.

Brilliant! Now *please* *please* add that to the bubble help. Plus: does
".domain.org" include "domain.org"? This is also important, as it
would mean that I have to enter many things twice (ok, but I have to
know about it).

Thanks much,

Volker

Okay, how about simply typing "cookies" in minicli (ALT+F2) ?

Will put it on my todo for after 3.3 release...

If "domain.org" is not specified, yes. The most specific always takes precedence...

One has to know the feature exists... Thanks for the tip! It's not
really any faster though.

Good, please also add this sentene to your bubble-help todo ;)

I think there's a bug in there soemwhere, I've had cookie domain
policies not corrrectly applied. I'll have an eye out for it.

Thanks for your help.

Volker
