Description Teemu Rytilahti 2004-07-20 05:05:40 UTC
Version: 1.3.90 (using KDE 3.2.91 (CVS >= 20040706), compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 (Debian 1:3.3.4-2)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-rc1-love1

All this started again when something got broken somewhy in my system. When I logged in the fonts in the splashscreen looked very bad, but that's not a big problem. Well, I have script in autostart which starts Konsole with 3 tabs, just for ircing. So, now I get 19 "font '-misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--15-140-75-75-c-90-iso10646-1'not found check README.linux.console" messages when Konsole starts, and two everytime I'm changing tabs. Isn't this a bit too much?

Well, then I checked the file mentioned in the messagebox (why user has to find the location of the file and open it him/herself?), there is no mention about the fonts. So now my system is kind of broken and unusable for me as I don't know how could I fix this.

This isn't the first time this happens for me, but does this happen so rarely that no one hasn't noticed it?

Since a few days the dialog is shown at most once per konsole process.

This leaves the question of why the font isn't found and the issue of the totally unhelpful message.

The font isn't found if Xft can't find the font. In particular /etc/fonts.conf or ~/.fonts.conf should include $KDEDIR/share/fonts.

Obsolete in KDE 3.5
