Description awendt 2004-07-20 02:27:23 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.91)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc 3.2.3
OS: Linux

I've never thought the word "Logout" in the Kicker menu and in the logout dialog was right.

"Logout" would be a noun, and "Log out" a verb, similar to how after you "work out", you're done your "workout". Also, think of conjugating it... You wouldn't say "I logouted", but "I logged out".

So anyway, I think this should be fixed in Kicker, and in whatever pops up the logout confirmation dialog (ksmserver?).

The KDE UI guide at http://developer.kde.org/documentation/standards/kde/style/dialogs/simple.html does talk about using verbs and an active voice where possible in confirmation dialogs.

A GNOME-using friend reports to me that their "log out" command has the space in it. :-)
