Description Nicholas Pilon 2004-07-19 00:25:24 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.3)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

Audio CD playing VIA audiocd ioslave in amarok skips and stutters. Playing CDs works fine VIA KsCD and xmms, and ripping them is not a problem. arts only, as audiocd:/ CD playing does not seem to work with gstreamer. arts does not seem to consume large amounts of CPU during this process. However, the cdrom drive read light does flicker off just before a break occurs. (No such flickering is observed with KsCD)

Reassigned.

Well when using audiocd if there are *any* scratches on the disk it will re-read the disk over and over by default trying to get the proper read from the disk to make the best rip. This could very well be the studder
Comment 3 Nicholas Pilon 2004-08-30 16:31:24 UTC
That doesn't seem to be what's happening, though, as the light on the drive goes off and then the playing pauses and then the light goes on again.

This bug is still present with KDE 3.3.1.
Comment 5 icefox 2005-07-26 16:25:44 UTC
changing the product
Comment 6 Greg Meyer 2005-08-15 21:10:17 UTC
Can you update to 1.3 final and see if this is still happening?
Comment 7 Alexandre Oliveira 2006-02-17 16:49:33 UTC
Now xine plays the cds properly, and we'll probably get a patch for gstreamer too, so this bug doesn't make much sense.
Also, no feedback for a long time.
