Description jakubpol 2004-07-16 15:08:56 UTC
Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.2.91)
Installed from:    Gentoo Packages
Compiler:          gcc-3.3.2
OS:                Linux

I have launched KGpg, went through the wizard, created the key pair. However, I then decided not to use encryption and wanted to turn off automatic startup of kgpg at login.

So: I went to Settings -> Configure KGpg -> Use Interface -> and unchecked the option "Start KGpg automatically at login". However, that did not work. KGpg does start every time I launch KDE and the above option changes to "checked" (after having been unchecked at previous login).

This is somewhat similar to bug 66661 but happens with KDE 3.2.91.

I could never reproduce this bug.
Do you still have it with a current cvs ?

Actually, not with the current cvs but with KDE 3.3 beta2 (still can't switch off automatic startup with the "Start KGpg automatically at login" option even with a new user account). If you can't reproduce it, then either it's been fixed or I must have done something wrong somewhere. Either way, I don't mind if you close the bug report (I'm not proficient enough to install kde cvs).

Regards

It happens with current CVS BRANCH 3.3

I have finally (after several months of unwanted kgpg's autostart :) ) managed to get rid of it. I simply changed the option:

[User Interface]
AutoStart=true

to:

[User Interface]
AutoStart=false

in the file .kde/share/config/kgpgrc using an editor. Then I quited kgpg and finally it didn't autostart any more. Trying to disable the autostart using the gui (unchecking "Start KGpg automatically at login") didn't modify the option in the above file.

it still does exist in kde 3.3.2 !
Comment 6 Stephan Gans 2004-12-29 22:08:27 UTC
Also experienced this bug in kde 3.3.2 it's really annoying !!!
Comment 7 Marcin Orlowski 2005-01-04 13:51:00 UTC
Confirmed. This bug is present in kgpg 1.2 and I had to deinstall kgpg completely due to this issue (my display area is quite limited and I wanted other items to appear in the tray).

I have modificated .kde/share/config/kgpgrc
---------NOW IS-------------
[User Interface]
AutoStart=false

Works for me (3.5.2, kgpg 1.2.2)? Any objections to close this bug?

Good Day . . .

#112610

If solved - no objections.

Thank You for your help.

Marking WORKSFORME, see also comment 11. I have verified that changing the option in the settings dialog is properly reflected in the kgpgrc.
