Description Magnus Larsson 2004-07-15 15:35:31 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.91)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc-3.4.0
OS: Linux

The Control Center->Desktop->Taskbar->Group similar tasks "When Taskbar Full" setting does not seem to apply to the Konsole application.

Steps to reproduce:
1: Set Control Center->Desktop->Taskbar->Group similar tasks to When Taskbar Full.
2: Launch Konsole (from a konsole): konsole& konsole&...to fill the taskbar. The Konsole application icons are never grouped in the taskbar. (Pressing the KDE Home icon several times produces the same result).

Konqueror, for example, works well:
3: Launch Konqueror (from a konsole): konqueror& konqueror& konqueror&.. to fill the taskbar. The Konqueror application icons are grouped, after a while, depending on the room available in the taskbar area. (Pressing the KDE konqbrowser icon several times produces the same result).

This worked in KDE 3.2.3. KDE 3.2.3 applied Group similar tasks to Konsole as well.

Best regards,

Magnus Larsson

I just built kde-3.2.92 from source and I have this problem as well. It is a regression from 3.2.3 and is really a usability problem on my desktop.
thanks.
