Version: 1.2.2 (using KDE 3.2.3, Gentoo) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 20040412 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.3-r6, ssp-3.3.2-2, pie-8.7.6) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.7-gentoo-r7 I was wondering if it is possible to make umbrello import UML Diagrams from Dia. (http://www.gnome.org/projects/dia/). The project uses XML files, like Umbrello. Thanks in advice. (Other related packages are: Reverse Engineering: http://droogs.org/autodia/ Code generation: http://dia2code.sourceforge.net/ Perhaps they are useful as well.)

This worked reasonably well for me. hth, J
Umbrello's code may not be that well suited to adding filters for other file formats, it's not something I've ever investigated. dia2code did say they would support Dia to Umbrello XMI convertion but it didn't work when I tried it.
It would be nicer if a XSLT for converting DIA to a primitive XMI file would be build. That way, the DIA files could be converted to XMI files that can be used by multiple UML modeling softwares
