Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.3) Installed from: SuSE RPMs To reproduce 1. open Konqueror as filemanager 2. split view left/right in say view A and B 3. enable show hidden files in view B 4. in view A click (MB1) on a file that displays embedded like a txt, html, png or pdf 5. click back in view A The problem is that view A lost its show hidden files setting - it now also shows hidden files.
Just discovered that the problem is not limited to show hidden files. The problem is a problem also with show access time and sorting by file size and maybe all view settings.
Can confirm this behaviour in kde 3.3.1 compiled from source. Does this mean that this kind of info isn't stored in "view profiles"? Additionally, if you have a split view with view A showing hidden files and view B not showing hidden files; then show hidden files is enabled on konqueror restart regardless.
This is still present in 3.5.9 and 4.0.3.
There is a mix of configurations that apply only to the current view, other that apply to the current tab, other that apply to all tabs and other that apply only after a reboot. I guess they should be sorted in the menus to avoid mistakes.
Works for me with 4.2
