Version: 1.3.2 (using KDE KDE 3.2.3) Installed from: Slackware Packages Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 Thread model: posix i486-slackware-linux OS: Linux Konsole is normally running on Desktop 1, while other stuff is being done on Desktop 2. When I change from Desktop 2 to Desktop 1 occasionally Konsole will crash. Unfortunately I can't duplicate it instantly - next time it happens I will add a backtrace.
It finally did it again, and here is the trace. What could I do to add more information? (no debugging symbols found)...Using host libthread_db library "/lib/libthread_db.so.1". Does it still happen with KDE 3.3?
I haven't tried KDE 3.3 as yet. I am using Slackware-current, which still has KDE 3.3 in testing. At the time I reported the bug 3.3 wasn't out yet. More annoyingly is the fact that I can't predict when it happens. I have the desktop which the open konsole is on set to change every 3 minutes, taking the slideshow images from a folder. This seems to help it crash, but I'm not sure why. --- Stephan Binner <binner@kde.org> wrote: > ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- > You reported the bug, or are watching the reporter. > > http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84081 > > > > > ------- Additional Comments From binner kde org > 2004-09-25 17:00 ------- > Does it still happen with KDE 3.3? > ___________________________________________________________ALL-NEW Yahoo! Can you try KDE 3.3, or even better 3.4. What schema are you using? Transparent?
I am now using KDE 3.3.2 under Slackware current with kernel 2.4.26. I am using the transparent schema, normally running 3 shells, with a desktop background that is set to change to a random wallpaper every 3 minutes. When I was in another desktop and went back to that one with the background having changed, the konsole occasionally crashed. I haven't had this problem in quite a while now - I think not since before I upgraded to this version of kde, but this kind of long stretch between crashes has happened before, and it had occurred in different versions of kde. O.K. its good it hasn't crashed lately... reopen this bug if Konsole crashes again. I'm pretty sure it was due to the transparent schema; which at times was quite buggy.
