Description nicholas fellows 2004-06-23 01:50:50 UTC
Version: 0.8.3 (using KDE 3.2.3, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 20040412 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.3-r6, ssp-3.3.2-2, pie-8.7.6)

When using kaboodle to play a music video ABBA-Super Trouper.mpg The music and video are poorly synchronised eg the singing doesnt come close to matching the lips of the singers

Please verify that you dont get the same behavior in when playing the file in xine.

Seems to occur in all xine based players when using the arts uotput plugin.
AFAIK the delay is caused by the ARTS buffer. We cant turn this off? how can I permanently adjust sync in Xine to match the size of the ARTS buffer?

There is no arts buffer. aRts uses the buffer of the output-device for instance ALSA and OSS buffers. You can decrease the buffer-size aRts asks for in kcontrol.

How much out of sync do you get?
Comment 4 Matt Rogers 2008-11-19 23:37:19 UTC
Arts is no longer developed and has been unmaintained for quite some time - more than 2 years. With phonon as the replacement for arts in KDE4, we're closing out all the arts bugs in Bugzilla since there is no chance of them being fixed.

Thanks
