Description Simon Roscic 2004-06-12 07:40:16 UTC
Version: 1.0-beta4 (using KDE KDE 3.2.3)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (Debian 20040422)
OS: Linux

first of all, thanks for the greatest audio player.
it would be cool to have an option in amaroK to
pause/stop audio output while a screensaver is running ...
i often leave my computer while sound is running, and
sometimes i come back really late at night or i have
to ssh from somewhere to my computer and stop the
audio player because i dont want my neighbors to get angry.
so it would be nice, if amaroK has an option to pause
and/or stop audio output when a kde screensaver starts,
and continue (configurable?) when the screensaver quits.

just a idea,
best regards,
simon.

As there's this plugin:
http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=21998/ (and people can improve/change it the way they like), I'm closing this request.

I was just about to file a similar bug and saw this. Yet the "plugin" linked to does not exist. Can someone advise an updated url?

My main wish is for pausing on screen lock, and for anyone else wishing this it is possible if you script it:

disable the ctrl-alt-l screenlock shortcut
make a bash script executable, say screenlock.sh:

#!/bin/bash
dcop amarok player pause
dcop kdesktop KScreensaverIface lock

Then make a menu entry for that script, and add the keyboard shortcut of ctrl-alt-l to the menu entry.

Would be nice to have this functionality as an option in amaroK. (kick ass music player, by the way! love it!!)

Cheers!
