Description bjrtqqzttgul 2004-06-08 14:22:42 UTC
Version: 3.2 (using KDE KDE 3.2.1)
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs
OS: Linux

KOrganizer refused to edit any existing calendar events with the error message "Unable to edit incidence. It's locked by another process." This persisted even though the user logged out, rebooted etc for several weeks. I fixed the problem by manually rm'ing ~/.kde/share/apps/kabc/lock/_home_ajgm_.kde_share_apps_korganizer_jingir.icsFlXsMy5C
and ~/.kde/share/apps/kabc/lock/_home_ajgm_.kde_share_apps_korganizer_jingir.ics.lock

This was with Mandrake 10. Expected behavior is that korganizer should remove stale locks.

Hi Babak,
Thanks for the bug report. Several problems with locking have been fixed since the days of kde 3.2.1. Thus your problem should be fixed by now, and I'm closing this bug report as fixed.

Thanks again,
Reinhold

I'd hate to inform you, but I get the same bug with in KDE 3.2.3 on Gentoo.

Yes, I don't think too many things have been fixed/reimplemented in the 3.2.x Branch. Most patches just went into head (which will be released as kde 3.3).

Cheers,
Reinhold
