Description Ryan Olf 2004-06-02 06:02:51 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc 3.2.2
OS: Linux

My UW-IMAP server is running on another computer over my 100Base-T LAN, and is never disconnected. Sometimes I have a mail client running on another computer, and whenever this is the case, KMail complains about the server being disconnected with an ever so annoying dialogue. I know many people have complained about the dialogue, and I agree it should be able to be turned off. I'm submitting this as a bug, because in this case, the dialogue seems to be incorrect.

I'm not sure if KMail complains when other users access their accounts on the server over IMAP, as the server has very few users and I check my mail more frequently than anyone else.

KMail probably complains because another process has opened the mailbox with write-access as uw imap can not handle this.
The wording is obviously misleading so I'll leave this open.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
