Version: 3.0.3 (using KDE KDE 3.2.2) Installed from: RedHat RPMs The IDEAl mode is wonderful: it allows us to concentrate a lot of panels in a limited space. However, it's not too much flexible. Let's use kdevelop as an example, because that is the more reresentative app with IDEAl mode, and in fact this bug is assigned to kdevelop developers :). Kdevelop has a lot of panels. I'd like to be able to: - Drag & Drop of opened panels is already available. But I'd like to have Drag & Drop of panels from place to place *even* if only its tabs from the panel lists are shown, just like gimp can do. Note that gimp shows near the cursor what's being dragged while dragging. More over, user could even drag and drop for just re-order a group of panels. - Real close feature of panels. To now, we can hide a panel that is being shown, click in its tab or in the "x" (close) button. That's not a real close of the panel, but a hiding of it. I'd like to be able to not even show its tab. For example, there are a lot of panels available in kdevelop, but depending on which kind of project we're working on, many of them are useless, but still available... more over, user could never use that or that other panel, so why show it? Less panels is more in many cases. - Contextual menus for the tabs of the panels. That would allow to right-click and select "close", for example. Or maybe he could select to show a panel that has been closed. I apologise my bad english. I suggest you to just try this feature of gimp 2, and just copy it ! It's wonderful, and that's what free software is for: free software =)!
so far I only see drag+drop as un-implemented (in kdev4) and as its best to keep each issue in a separate report I'm reducing this to that.
