Description Stefan Frings 2004-05-25 21:37:26 UTC
Version: 0.11.9 (using KDE 3.2.2, SuSE)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.1 (SuSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.21-215-athlon

Aftwer burning a DVD (any type) the program rties to eject the media. But then it outputs an error message "unable to eject media" and the DVD tray remains closed. I can press the eject button on the drive and I can use the eject command to open the tray.

I assume that the program need to wait a second before it sends the eject command. My drive is a TEAC DV-W50D

I noticed the Kernel always disables DMA when the eject fails, because of an i/o timeout. But also with DMA=off, the eject does not work immediately at the end of burning progress. I disabled eject in K3B and I use now the eject command instead without any problems.

I like to add the information that the problem disappeared on my notebook after replacing the DVD burner by a different one. I replaced it because the number of read errors increased withing the last month.
