open terminal emulator window from GUI in mandrake 10.0 community edition with 2.6 kernel
 type

This could be a dup of http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65127.

On the other hand, showkey is a horrendous program... the GUI will become very unusable and it is hard to get showkey to quit... yuck!

Explain what you mean when the 'whole GUI will crash'. X/KDE crashes?
Comment 2 padovano 2004-06-12 12:25:50 UTC
the system starts opening multiple windows and the system crashes...I don't know if in a multiple users environment a single user can crash the whole system this way but surely he steals a lot of resources and this is quite dangerous!!!

Does this also happen if you use "xterm" instead of "konsole"?

No answer.
