Description Shannon S. Harvey 2004-05-16 01:52:43 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: i686-pc-linux-gnu-3.2.1
OS: Linux

When running the kjobviewer, the application is causing large numbers of TIME_WAIT sockets to appear with the cupsd. I'm seeing on the order of approximately 50 individual socket connections (in the state TIME_WAIT). Verified by executing "netstat -antp" while running both kjobviewer and /usr/sbin/cupsd.

UNCONFIRMED (batch reassigning messed this)
Comment 2 Cristian Tibirna 2005-09-24 06:00:21 UTC
Indeed. And number increasing with time!
Comment 3 Michael Goffioul 2005-09-26 09:12:28 UTC
Kdeprint makes a connection to the server every 5 seconds (to refresh its view). This is probably where it comes from.

Michael.

To be tested if this now also works over the unix domain socket connections, if CUPS server is local to KDEPrint.

Closing old Resolved status bug.
