Version: 3.2.2 (using KDE 3.2.2, SuSE) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.1 (SuSE Linux) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.4-54.3-default I'm typing an adress, lets say: www.go now i go down with my down-key to the auto complete sugestions... i decided to return to the location bar with my up-key, and instead of www.go, i get the autocomplete sugestion lets say www.google.com this behaviour cannot be reproduced with opera or mozilla, and is quite a bug... the autocomplete sugestion should be activated with mouse click or return key
confirming for 3.4.0. firefox's handling of this is so nice we should copy it.
Quick note to clear up what I meant, just for the record. I meant the way that hitting the up key when the 1st autocomplete entry is selected returns you to your original text-entry. I wasn't we wholesale copy firefox's autocomplete handling.
It's getting late. "I didn't mean that we should wholesale copy firefox's autocomplete handling." Sorry for spam.
I'm using 4.0 branch r802754, and this is still the behaviour.
Once you select an item from the completion box, you can never "return" to the location bar without either making a choice or dismissing the completion box. If you want to dismiss the completion box and get back the original text, then simply press ESC.
ESC works, but I think very little number of users will discover it. Firefox users have got used to the behaviour suggested here, and the current completion box behaviour in Konqueror will be unexpected for them.
