The initial layout of the open document dialog in koffice apps (probaby others as well) is strange.  See attachment.

Strange layout

There is a gap between the quick navigation panel and the scrollbars on the
right edge are cut off.

I'm not seeing this with CVS HEAD. What version of KDE are you working from? 

I'll show you what I see.

KWord and other KOffice apps are basically the same.

Tom, what is the style you are using?? Maybe, this is a problem of the style.
Here, the dialog is ok.

Sorry, this has long been fixed.  Just a temporary change in CVS HEAD made it do this a few months ago.  Seems to all be better now.
