This is something I've been thinking about for a while, and I believe it might make people's lives much easier. I think KuickJump might be a good name :)

What I would like to have is that, when you move the mouse pointer, KDE figures out the nearest "hot spot" in that direction, and uses a second mouse pointer, or a special highlight, to indicate it.

Left-click will then activate that "hot spot". Any other click is just processed as usual.

After a timeout, the special highlight disappears, to not have accidental clicks.

A "hot spot" is a button, a hyperlink, menu item, etc. In short any area, that when clicked anywhere within the area, will give a certain behaviour. If your pointer is in an area where the mouse position is important (e.g. zooming in on a point in a graphic), KuickJump is disabled until you exit that area.

The end result should be that people can click on buttons and links and so on faster and more accurately, and it should make life easier for people with disabilities.

I don't know what part of KDE this should go in, maybe accessability? Anyway, just throwing the idea out there and hoping that you like it enough to implement it :)
