Description raditzman 2004-04-28 21:44:37 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.2)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

It would be great, if possible, to automagically replace the normal icon for msn contacts(in the contact list) with a thumbnail of the personalized image those contacts use (only shown during a normal chat). This makes sense, because, for example, my contacts keep changing their names (just for fun) and it really is cumbersome to have to look for the e-mail of that contact just to find out who the hell they are :)
It would probably make sense to make this the default.

p.s. - great work with kopete:) I use it everyday :)

what about using the images from kaddressbook for that?
Comment 2 Olivier Goffart 2004-07-28 16:17:02 UTC
The idea was to (optionaly) sync the kadressbook image with the msn one.

(and yes, it's the kadressbook image which will be used if any)

very good idea to sync with kadressbook.
but there isn't only msn in the life, jabber and icq have photo support even if kopete don't support this actually.
A good choice is that the last protocol chat used show the photo, even if the user of kopete don't decide for a photo or who decide to receive the photo only with a protocol for the contact.

This is possible with KDE 3.4 beta.
