Description Mariusz 2004-04-27 16:20:24 UTC
Version: 3.2 (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from: Unspecified Linux
OS: Linux

I create a new TODO. In Attendees part I set one name, role - participant, status needs action, and mark request response. In attachments card i set one file.
In KDE Kontact when I chose TODO list, highlight a task.

1. I clik a e-mail icon to send a e-mail to parcipant. In field TO:.. income a list of person what I have in attendees, body parts show information from GENERAL card. In ATTACHMENT income file: cal.ics. I think supposed to income file this what I defined in ATTACHMENT card, and in this way it will works nice.

2. When Iadd ATTACHMENT Ihave to type a path to this file. Can will be better when we will have any chose window which help us to chose a file?

If this is just some configuration what I can do myself, please let me know.

Regards

Hi Mariusz,
Thanks for the bug report. Do I understand your bug report correctly that you'd like to have the following:
-) You have a todo item with an attachment (just a path to a file on your local harddisk)
-) If you now publish this todo item to the attendees, you also want to send the real file so the recipients will also have the real file (and not just the path that is stored in the todo item).

That would indeed be an interesting feature, but it's not really a bug.

Hi Reinhold.
Thank you for respond.
Really I didn't know how classify this. I didn't know how it works before. I
just thought that supposed to works.
If you think this is nice feature, and it can be implemented in next versions,
I will happy, that I could help.

Best Regards

Mariusz Antonik

Looks like a case of bug 90819, which deals with embedding attachments. Perhaps it would be possible to have an "embed on export" option to attach the file when sending emails.

Point 2 of this BR is fixed for KDE 3.4 now. You can select an attachment with a filebrowser or by dropping files in the attachments tab.
