Description Robert Shideleff 2004-04-21 20:14:46 UTC
Version: 3.0.1 (using KDE 3.2.1, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 20031218 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.2-r5, propolice-3.3-7)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.6-rc1

Kate has a very cool presentation/view feature where it auto-wraps comments and indents them properly on the next line. No carriage return is added to the line, it just wraps it on the display. This (while VERY cool) sort of takes away my impetus to actually format my comments, which means that they are more or less unreadable for other people.

I got used to xemacs' ability (back when I used it) to auto justify and re-flow comments on demand. I think it would be very useful to either provide this feature while typing (probably as an addition to the kate part), or to add an option to the auto-format function to re-flow and wrap long comment lines. Possibly both are in order...
