Installed from:    SuSE
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.1 (SuSE Linux)
OS:          Linux (i686) release 2.4.21-199-athlon

I have set up my yahoo account on the messenger, but although it says I am signed in, I can neither send or recieve messages from my friends on yahoo; and they have told me that I am offline, even when I am shown as logged in by the messenger.

Yahoo changed its protocol. You need at least Kopete 0.8.0 if you want to connect to it, not to speak about the bugfixes since Kopete 0.7.3 :)

I have Kopete 0.8.0 on my computer, and I had Yahoo Messenger on my messenger working fine up to about 2 months ago. It then stopped signing into Yahoo Messenger and asked me repeatedly for the password which I had already stored to auto sign in. But, load and behold, it would still not sign in... saying that the password was invalid. I even tried changing my password on Yahoo to see if it would allow me to sign in on the messenger. Still didn't work. Tonight, out of frustration, I created a new Yahoo scrn name & password on Yahoo, and then re-added Yahoo to my Kopete messenger to see if it would work this way. Still no go! What can I do?

Upgrade to 0.8.4 or wait for KDE 3.3, they changed their protocol again.

Kopete 0.12.4 kde 3.5.6 will not run yahoo messenger.
