Version: 1.0 beta1 (using KDE KDE 3.2.1) Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package OS: Linux I realise this is an issue in the audiocd:/ kio but in regard to amarok this is a current bug. It seems that when using audiocd:/ in amarok and you change the CD the old information is still listed, this becomes an issue if the newly inserted has more tracks than the previous, the only current solution is to restart amarok. It seems the solution would be for amarok to refresh the fileview widget every second or so, or provide a manual refresh button (seems auto-refresh would be better on the user). Also afaik from reading comments on this kio bug it seems KAudioCreator refreshes every sec. "If you use KAudioCreator it does scan once a second and tell audiocd to refresh, but yah, audiocd can't support this because kio can't. The view is static. Sorry." http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70050
It seems to me that KIO should have something changed to allow protocols to say "I'm updated!". Not all would use this, like HTTP, but the audiocd should be able to. Not that I know anything about KIO. Rescanning every second is a hack IMO. A Refresh action however is definately a good idea. So we should add a refresh button in the toolbar and consider auto-refresh for certain protocols; audiocd, ipod, etc. (not remote ones though like http/ftp)
I've added a reload button to the FileBrowser, so now I think the remainder of the bug is a wish. I'll change it accordingly. Feel free to argue!
This is almost a dup of Bug 27304 and 29189

Shouldn't we reassign this to product kio?
Closing, because gst-0.8 was removed in 1.4
