Version: onbekend (using KDE 3.2.1, compiled sources) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 [FreeBSD] 20031106 OS: FreeBSD (i386) release 5.2.1-RELEASE When I login on the kdm login screen, all I get is an xterm window in the top-left corner. I cannot make the window active, so I cannot type text in it. And this applies to all users, even to root. All I can do is Ctrl-Alt-Backspace to restart kdm and get the login screen again. I've got a single line with 'startkde' in my ~/.xsession. A normal 'startx' does work perfectly fine, with KDE starting up immediately. This has been reported previously, for KDE 3.2.1 on Linux: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?threadid=170141
what is saved in every user's ~/.dmrc?
try to set the session type to KDE3, again. this helped here. regards, muesli
