Description john woodhouse 2004-04-06 22:13:06 UTC
Version: 3.1.4 (using KDE 3.1.4)
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.1 (SuSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.21-199-athlon

I am a new comer to linux and wasn't used to using the bookmark feature in Konqueror. I hit the star icon and then hit the bookmarks dropdown and it's bookmark. I had also played with a blank iconless space on the top icon bar that gave a history pop up. I now know that a history button woudn't normaly be put there. I have a copy of the error dump. Can mail it if you like but am away over Easter.

Maybe I should enter 2 bug reports but they might be related.

While prowling through the root directory looking for some programs I had installed with Yast2 that haven't appeared in KDE I noticed that often when I click on a directory it's selected for copy on one click and no hold. I'm using a wireless ps2/usb rf mouse on ps2. It only happens on the first click on a directory and doesn't happen at all if I click twice. These mice sleep on inactivity and wake up on a move or click. The 1st click with no or small or very fast movement is sometimes missed. Not KDE-I've only noticed that on windoze 2k. Also that their fade in drop downs sometimes hang semi transparent, Thought I had written too mcuh code the first time that happened. The mouse is a £10 roller ball by packard bell with high dpi. I only use the keyboard for editing. Have had similar problems with a £10 offering from Trust too.

What actually caused the error? And yes, you should just paste the backtrace into the bug report.

I'm sorry nobody got to this earlier! I suspect that this is long fixed, as I haven't had that sort of problem.

What do you expect to happen with bookmarks? (is this a usability thing?)

The mouse does not sound KDE-specific, or even linux-specific.

And yes, these would all be separate bug reports. Can I close this?

No response, closing.

I also suspect bookmarks was completely rewritten for 4.
