Description Michał Kosmulski 2004-04-01 12:33:18 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.1)
Installed from: Slackware Packages
OS: Linux

When I choose the option to open the text editor window from kgpg's tray icon's menu, nothing happens. Opening from the menu in the keys dialog works normally. This bug was not present in 3.2.0 but appeared in 3.2.1 (contrib slackware packages from kde ftp site).

Yes, I discovered that stupid bug one day after the 3.2.1 release!
It is now fixed and will be ok in the KDE 3.2.2 release.

Well, I'm a bit lost. Where exactly do you find the editor in the menu? I can't find it!? Thanks.

Hmm, you are probably using an older KGpg version, since it's hard to miss it.
Right click on Kgpg's applet, you should see an Open Editor entry.

Thanks for your answer, but I'm already using KDE 3.2.1. What I actually wanted to know was where to find the editor in the menus. The bug reporter said "Opening from the menu in the keys dialog works normally", but somehow I can't locate this menu entry. In the meantime gvim does the job ;-)

OK, the way I wrote it was misleading - there is no "normal" menu entry for that - opening the editor now requires a dirty trick: from the tray icon's menu choose "encrypt clipboard" and then "decrypt clipboard" (yuo can even click on cancel instead of entering a password). The the editor is opened. What I really wanted to say is that it is possible to open the editor - that the window is not totally gone, it's just the menu that's broken. Sorry for not being clear.
