Description robert lindgren 2004-03-28 15:14:00 UTC
Version: 1.6.1 (using KDE KDE 3.2.1)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

Searching in Imap folders gives inaccourate findings. I searched for <message> contains Allan. Sometimes gives the answer 2 mail, sometimes 1 mail. Copying all mails to a local folder gives the correct answer: 5.

Subject search criteria looks to work ok though.

I have the same problem. If I manually go to a folder and keep pressing the left arrow key (to look through all messages), and then try the search again, everything works fine.

So it seems that the article body isn't being demand-loaded when doing a search. But when I force a load of every message body, the search works fine.

This is very annoying, as I frequently search for stuff from mailing lists that I *know* is there; I just can't remember where.

FYI, I'm using KMail 1.6.2, KDE 3.2.2, and Mandrake 10.

IMAP body search is now disabled for kdepim 3.3

Well that wasn't the solution I was looking for :) I'll open this as a whishlist bug instead then.

Reopen as wish.

Hmm,
Bad news if body search does not make it into 3.3.
It is extremly important for day to day work.

where can I enable it for my CVS builds - in case this feature does not make it?

It'd be good to have, yes. One of the things I hope to get to at aKademy.

You can't. It's completely unimplemented.
