The design of new models for Konsole would be easier if there was a preview for text colors and background in the Models tab of the configuration dialog. (Currently there is only a small preview for the background.)

For each text color, a short text could be shown, printed against the model's background. With such a preview, the user would know immediately what colors fit on a given background. This would be easier than saving the model, exiting the configuration dialog, typing colored text, taking note of what needs to be changed, then reopening the configuration dialog.

This bug has been reported elsewhere, I cannot remember exactly which report right at the moment, but I hope to resolve this problem.
