Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.1) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Hi, somehow i managed to bring kdevelop into a state, that the kate window in it is behind the kdevelop bottom "window bar" (Messages, application, ...) to illustrate what i mean i will attach a screenshot. the lowest line in kate is only half visible, but it is really the lowest line, going down with the cursor moves all the shown text one row up. this error seems to be saved into the kdeveloprc file, after i moved it and started kdevelop, it didn´t make the error again. i will attach the broken and the newly created kdeveloprc for reference. thanks, Holger

Using recent version of KDevelop compiled from CVS, I experienced problem similar to this one. After deleting kdeveloprc file, the buttons at bottom of screen (Messages, Application, Diff, etc) were displayed in one row, but cut off at the right. The last button I could see was "CTA" and Problems button was not visible at all. After resizing the window, all buttons were visible in two rows, but now the Kate window was cut off. In my case, it was even more severe than original reporter's screenshot because the Kate vertical scrollbar was cut off at the bottom. Only the tip of the up arrow was visible and down arrow was completely hidden underneath the bottons at bottom, making it difficult to scroll down through code. I can get everything straightened out by clicking Messages button and clicking the Overlap button (tiny square in upper right corner of Messages frame).
KDE version? Qt version? KDevelop HEAD or KDE_3_2_BRANCH ? Screenshot?

Responses to questions in comment #5: Qt: 3.3.3 KDE: 3.3.89 (CVS >= 20040820) KDevelop compiled from CVS HEAD about 2 weeks ago. See Anne-Marie's screenshot.
This must be KMDI's fault. I cannot see how the app can be responsible for the partarea <-> toolview interaction.
I think you can close this now. The misbehavour I described above is gone in latest HEAD.
can't see it here either.
