Version: 3.0.x (using KDE KDE 3.2.1) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Compiler: gcc 3.3.3 OS: Linux When in toplevel mode, I can only do things with the last file opened. I can switch between the open files with the tabs, but it still registers the last opened file as the one that's in use. So I cannot copy/paste/save/reformat source, etc. with anything but the last file I opened (which means it's impossible to cut/paste between files). And if I close the last opened file, it just acts as if I have none opened (no file listed in title bar, and most menu options greyed out). Luckily, the "Save All" option will still save the other open files, but that is the only menu option that seems to do anything with them.
Toplevel has been broken for about a year now.. should we perhaps disable it?
I don't know if it should be disabled (because it's a really cool concept), but I think it would be nice if there was some warning given when selecting (even as simple as the word "Broken" next to the option). I lost some work due to it not saving the correct file when selecting save, and even then I didn't realize what the problem was (it wasn't until I tried copying and pasting between windows that I realized what was happening), so a warning would've definately helped in my case. Other than that problem I'm loving the program, so I'll just use Childframe mode for the time being. --- Jens Dagerbo <jens.dagerbo@swipnet.se> wrote: > ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- > You reported the bug, or are watching the reporter. > > http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77867 > jens.dagerbo swipnet se changed: > > What |Removed > |Added > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Component|general |UI: > toplevel window > > > > ------- Additional Comments From jens.dagerbo > swipnet se 2004-03-17 20:30 ------- > Toplevel has been broken for about a year now.. > should we perhaps disable it? __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yes, KMDI.
fixing the disaster left by "Change Several Bugs at once"
kmdi has been removed in KDE 4 and no more fixes will be made for KDE 3.5.x. The apps that were using kmdi in the KDE SVN repository have moved to their own multi-document implementations
