Description Steven T. Hatton 2004-03-05 16:42:01 UTC
Version: 3.0.90 (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

I am pretty sure this is technically possible, I don't however know if it is a reasonable request. I propose errors which would be caught by the precompilation statges of building be checked for. If detected they should be highlighted (almost) immediately. A bubble pop-up on hover, and/or a textual and iconic visual indicator external to the edit buffer, perhaps in the class browser should indicate and describe the error.

This in conjunction withe code completion and syntax highlighting will create a very enabling development environment. I know I'm asking for a lot here. I believe it's worth a lot.

I intended to say this should happen while editing, not building. That may not be clear in the above wording.

It already exists. It's called problem reporter and does EXACLLY wnat you want.

OK, I'll be a little more verbose. :)
Keep the problem reporter tab opened wile you type.
Activate "Show incon border" F6

type something like
sjdhgaçkjshgfdhb
vaphdvoadjv

see what happens :)

Amlicar, on my notebook with 1024x786 resolution, i barely dare having the problem reporter open all the time. Yet 1024x786 isn't smallest resolution i've seen around recently.

I'd like it to have encountered errors underlined on the fly. And i think that this is posible - if we put it into kate and qeditor.
