Description Bart Verwilst 2004-03-02 00:35:51 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc 3.3.3
OS: Linux

When scrolling down/up the list of movies on http://www.marcelcoenen.com/movieclips.htm, the page scrolls not smooth at all.. Like something is refreshing all the time or something..

Thanks in advance!

well, the problem is that there is a 1x3 pixel alphatransparent
background image, that gets tiled, and tiling a alphatransparent
background image is terrible slow.

Actually, it just uses an alpha color in the colormap but not in
the picture itself. so when removing it from the colormap, konqueror
detects that it can perform the tiling optimisation, and its fast
again.

some sites are just designed to fail in our browser :-(

Hm,isn't there a way to optimize the tiling of alphatransparent background images? :) In the meantime, i'll send this page to the webmaster of that site...

Thanks!
