Description Uday Kumar Reddy 2004-02-15 19:44:12 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
Compiler: Not Applicable - Used KDE 3.2 binary RPMS for Fedora Core 1
OS: Linux

This problem doesn't arise when using KDE for a short period of time i.e. everything works well initially. The problem starts when I make use of kicker after some time (may be around half an hour; I can't correlate this problem with something else, yet). After using the kicker to get the kmenu for example, KDE stops responding to mouse input. When I say KDE, it includes the desktop, the kicker and all the application windows. However, the keyboard works fine; pressing any combination works the way it should. The problem is solved when I switch consoles or use the Alt-Tab or Esc key and come back to an application window. Then on, everything works fine as long as I do NOT use the panel (kicker). Once this problem starts, it recurs and keeps happening till I restart kicker.

Also, when this problem occurs I cannot switch between applications using the tasklist applet in kicker; but, I can switch by clicking the application windows themselves or by using the Alt-Tab combination. Similarly, I can't access other items in the panel using the mouse.

It would like to add that my mouse is working correctly. I checked it by using it on a VT and also on other desktop environments.
